First Presbyterian Church of Philipstown

Adult Education

During the pandemic, our Adult Study Group, Contemplative Prayer Group, and Book Club are all meeting virtually using the Zoom platform. Join us! Simply ask to be put on any group's email list, and you will receive secure Zoom link and password before the next online gathering. When it is possible to gather safely in person, you'll receive those updates via email as well. To be put on a list for these groups, email the church office at 1presbyterian@gmail.com. Thank you!
Sunday Mornings: Adult Study Group

Our Study Group meets in the comfortable, intimate setting of our church library on Sundays at 9 am from September through May -- just before the weekly 10:30 worship service.

Each session runs for 6 to 8 weeks, and is usually centered on a particular book that we all read. Group activities and discussions are guided by study group members, Rev. Dr., Doris Chandler, or by one of our parish associates.

Our Study Group is a wonderful opportunity for learning, reflection, and lively discussion as we share thoughtful insights and opinions on diverse topics of concern to us all as people of faith and citizens of the world. Join us for one or more Sundays in any Study Group session -- it's up to you!

No registration necessary! Drop in whenever you like. For more information about current or upcoming Study Group sessions, email the church office at 1presbyterian@gmail.com or call (845) 265-3220.
Wednesday Mornings: Meditate with our Contemplative Prayer Group

Our Contemplative Prayer Group meets in the comfortable and intimate setting of our church library from 7 to 8 am each Wednesday morning and shares readings, silent meditation, prayer, and discussion.

This group is open to anyone, simply walk in to try this experience. If you would like additional
