Teen Programs
Our Teen Youth Group meets quarterly in conjunction with St. Philips Episcopal Church in Garrison and provides opportunities for young people in both congregations.
Confirmation classes are scheduled and guided by our pastor and elder Lynn Brown. Eight teens took confirmation classes in the spring of 2024 where they contributed to Sunday services, mission projects and other activities. Opportunities for Teens to Learn and Grow:
Community Service Through Mission Projects Teens play important roles in our Mission Projects to help people and families in need in our community. For example, they collect food donations and volunteer to help on Saturdays at the Philipstown Food Pantry. They also make lunches and sort clothes, prepare food for our Midnight Run missions that provide food, clothing, comfort, and conversation to the homeless people in New York City. Students 16 yrs and older can also participate in our Presbybuild workdays to help build and renovate homes for families in Newburgh, in partnerships with other churches and Habitat for Humanity. |

Teens also have the opportunity to prepare PAPA meals on the first Tuesday of the month, when we provide
a hot meal or bag lunch for up to 125 people at the Salvation Army’s soup kitchen in Peekskill.
Families, please note: Teens can participate in mission projects with their families, or on their own with parental
permission. They can also volunteer through youth organizations such as school groups or scout troops. You can

Youth Group for Teens: Faith in Action
All teens are welcome at our Youth Group meetings and other programs. Your family does not need to be a member of our congregation, or any congregation, to participate. During COVID-19, teens have been meeting via the ZOOM remote meeting platform, outdoors, or volunteering under safe conditions. Generally, teens meet with our pastor or a Youth Group leader once a month on Sunday afternoons to discuss timely issues; share opinions, concerns, and experiences. Youth Group members volunteer on mission and outreach projects, and they also contribute to Sunday services and other activities. Teens also have the option to take our confirmation classes. Eight teens took confirmation classes in spring 2019 (left). Many students then chose to be confirmed as FPCP members (below). For info about our Youth Group or our next confirmation classes, contact the church office at [email protected].
